Accuracy Evaluation of CFOSAT SWIM L2 Products Based on NDBC Buoy and Jason-3 Altimeter Data

Chinese-French Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT), the first satellite which can observe global ocean wave and wind synchronously, was successfully launched On 29 October 2018. The CFOSAT carries SWIM that on a scale. Based National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) buoys Jason-3 altimeter data, this study evaluated accuracy of L2 level products from August 2019 to September 2020. results show nadir Significant Wave Height (SWH) data spectrometer is good. Compared with NDBC altimeter, RMSE box SWH were 0.39 0.21 m, respectively. variation trend increasing then decreasing height. precision off-nadir spectrum not better than data. Accuracy for June 2020 after 2020, After linear regression correction, improved. evaluation comparison different time period showed improved version updated in especially 6° 8° spectrum. decreases dominant direction each also very good, 10° slightly others.
